Build & Materials
The blade is crafted from premium Uddeholm Vanadis 4 Extra, a high-performance powder-metallurgy tool steel known for its excellent combination of toughness, wear resistance, and resistance to edge chipping.
Unlike conventional stainless steels, Vanadis 4 Extra prioritizes mechanical performance, making it an outstanding choice for demanding outdoor applications where cutting strength and edge stability are essential.
Hardened to 60–61 HRC, this steel delivers excellent cutting performance and edge durability for serious fieldwork.
The blade is protected by a black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating, which enhances surface wear resistance, reduces reflections, and provides an additional barrier against corrosion. The dark finish complements the Coyote handle and gives this South Pole a purposeful, understated character.
